They're only best used against cavalry and enemy charges. Attack them from the flanks (with cavalry) or the rear. I'd recommend performing a rear charge as it gives the enemy less time to manoeuvre. You could also attack them with arrow's but this is a less? effective approach!

On the campaign the Gauls are crushed easily, i've been fighting the Gauls for a while and every battle they out number me? like Gaul: 1200 Me: 500 and i always beat them, they have awful morale.
