1. Have? supplies (bug out bags, etc) 2. Acquire safe haven (bug out location(s)) 3. Be proactive (leave before escalation with planned route(s)) 4.? Secure and resupply safe haven (guns, survelience, caches, fishing, hunting, water, etc) 5. Exit strategy (returning back will require communication devices) * Adapting to variables (knowledge of potential variables with backup plans and strategy changes)

Unfortunately if you were in a bug out situation people would probably be chasing you for those bikes. Good idea on teaching? your kids tools of survival.

Are there running water? sources out there? If you need to spend an extended time out in the desert, you need water sources. And would all the other folks in your community just stay in their homes? I hope you have more survival supplies than cheese and a couple of bottles of water. Good idea checking out local areas and getting the girls involved. Show them how to make fire and shelter as well as purifying water. I have been doing that with my family for awhile.

You're to be commended? on teaching your children how to survive and spending quality time with them in the process. I am sure they love going bike riding with you. Keep up the good work.

That's a shame good vid though more people need to? teach the young ones what to do in a bad event

They? were probably going to sell those bikes.

And be careful of mountain lions and buffalo stampedes. Did you know there are apaches? out there? Don't forget to bring toast.

You're a great dad, George. Many men would rather feel silly than do the right thing, in this regard, even if they know what's right. We have? to start thinking like the people who built civilization, like yoiu're doing, as opposed to those who will collapse under it.

G4T - when I lived in the Bay Area, I picked up an earthquake backpack. It had 3+ days worth of food + other things. I've swapped out the food but, that pack goes with me even on roads trips outside of my home here in New Mexico. And we have a good chain of mountains to? run to in case of disasters right near home - the Sandia and Manzano mountains. Not to mention the mesa country west of here. Stay safe, stay hydrated, stay sane ;-)

Camping is a good way to practice these survival? skills without causing undue stress about future events.

I just watched your video about how to have an intimate relationship with a non-truther, but it looks like that doesn't not apply to your children. But, what happens when your girls go home and tell their mom, "Dad taught us about? where to go when the SHTF!"

My? bike got ripped off but the kid got a job and payed me 500 bucks to replace it. Only in Canada.

Bikes will easily outrun military vehicles in a SHTF scenario, no? problem

Bet someone wanted to part out what they could and scrap the metal. Bikes, air conditioners on people's houses....we had a guy in our area that died trying to steal a catalytic converter off of a car. He had it jacked up and the jack slipped and the car crushed him to death. He died trying to steal a vehicle part so he could buy his? family Christmas presents. How sad is that?!?!

The one thing you should be aware of, in SPRING and the summer months this type of area is full of RATTLE SNAKES! All of the high desert? and areas like that are dangerous, if you are not careful! Take care of the children! Watch out!
By: aceyorba. on 08 Jan 12, 05:46:27
watch? out for the rattle snakes.. they are out on warm winter days ?
