How come? it doesn't matter if it is a youtube about how to purchase a teddybear or cycling. Americans always make it sound like a life and death military operation thing. Stealth camping hahaha I had to subscribe to this channel. I love it. I will ride a cycle for 1500 miles + in the near future. Sounds great.

Great stealth camping advice! I like a tent that I can streatch out in, sit up in, and offload my gear into to put out of the weather. I was stuck in a huge rain downpour in a very nice Bivy Sac and was miserable. My tent? right now is the cheep REI dome tent. Works for me and I can put it up in 5 minutes.. peace

Depending where you are, you can actually quite legally stealth camp. Quite a few? national parks allow camping in certain areas so long as you practice minimum-impact camping practices - ie no pit fires - only camp stoves. In any case, in North American where you have bears, I would strongly recommend cooking and eating several hundred yards from where-ever you plan to camp. Food smells attract bears.

One other thing...when stealth camping you might be setting up in the dark. 3 LEAVES IS BAD! Make sure not to forget to check for Poision Oak/ivy etc.!? Phones make good lights if you dont want to draw attention and they also make great alarm clocks, that is if its battery isnt dead yet :)

Something else to note about stealth camping is that it really is about timing as much as location. I.E. Most people are asleep from 10pm-6am. So, if your out by 5:45 AM, no one will know. You don't need to be far from people, just "removed" from them. ? (Tree's, bushes, fence, whatever), so that they won't possibly wander into your camp at 4am and scream.

stealth camping is not being at a camp desinated area. It could be in the woods, or in a farm field, etc. The important thing is the leave no trace? rule. I think it should be mentioned about sit-up hight. My friend had a one man bivy tent and found it not to be very much fun. You'll appreciate being able to sit up when changing or if you're stuck in it during a morning storm.

My thoughts are that since its hard to find tents in the right color all the time, it might be good to have a camouflage sheet that you could throw over it and the bike. Why have a stealth tent with a shiny red bike? attracting attention? A camouflage throw sheet made of thin material would be light to carry along and could be used as a stealth cover.

Good video, not enough on this topic. Really glad you mentioned 'stealth' camping. I'm heading out for my first time in a few weeks. I'm using a 1 man 1.8 (approx.4lbs) tent from my local? mountain equip. store. It's a bit on the heavy side but has extra heavy duty floor.. can't wait to go!
