A tip for properly wearing a backpack is to adjust and tighten your hip belt first making sure the weight of the pack is on your hips. Then adjust and tighten your shoulder straps. Your chest strap should be last. Suprisingly alot of people don't do it in? this order resulting in too much weight being put on their shoulders causing fatigue. Lastly, I would much rather shave the weight off my body prior to a trip rather than skimp on quality gear. This is where folks get in trouble.

Yeah ... I am 52 years old and just got an Eberlestock Battleship V-90 (over 9 LBS just for? the pack) AND I keep an USGI-ECWS/MSS (9 pound sleep system), in the lower compartment ... That's 18 pounds before I even get started ! ... I was lugging 60 pounds, around town, today ... Mil-Spec ... Sure is DURABLE !? (LoL). Of course, the? whole "INCH" modality is predicated on the "NO RE-SUPPLY, EVER" phulosophy ... a ridiculous fantasy, but I pursue it, nonetheless. I DO envy the spring in? yer step!

The G4 is really nice but very simple at the same time. DOn't pack more than 25 lbs? in it. We went with ENO hammocks this trip out and will probably never use a tent again... big learning curve with hammocks but way more comfortable. ;) c

I've been looking at buying a G4 myself. Nice to see how it works out for another woman. I have? a Gregory pack that I bought last year but not only is it heavy (5 lbs 8oz), but also the shoulder straps dig in where they really hurt. What sleeping mat did you have there? Were you sleeping in a tent? - Christine

A tip for you if you sew Large Key? ring on the ends of the straps it works at thumb grips to snug up your pack.No Paracord hanging off your pack. Hope it helps
